Firefighters responded to reports of a fire in the early hours. Upon arrival crews confirmed there was a fire within the ground floor kitchen. Two breathing apparatus were used along with a Carbon Dioxide extinguisher, 1 hose reel jet and 1 safety jet. A thermal image camera was also used to ensure there were no remaining hot spots.
Crews are currently investigating the extraction unit to ensure there is no further fire spread.
Final details - Crews were satisfied that the fire had not spread in the extraction unit. Additional equipment used not yet reported was a triple extension ladder and small tools. Crews reported 100% fire heat and smoke damage to the kitchen. The cause of the fire was reported as accidental.
